A little help with Check.

Install Check

  1. Download Check on an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later.
  2. Open the disk image and drag Check into Applications.
  3. Open Check from Applications, then choose “Check my computer”.
  4. Review your recommendation and download size. Choose “Install my AI”.
  5. Keep Check open until the test completes, then start chatting.

The download stopped

Check your connection and free storage, then try again. Completed model parts can be reused. Download time depends on your connection; the AI is roughly 3–4 GB. You can stop a download from Check.

My AI is slow or won’t answer

Close memory-heavy apps and try a short question in a new chat. The first response often takes longer while the model loads. Restart Check if its local engine has stopped. Local AI uses memory and battery power; keep your Mac plugged in during a long session.

What can I ask?

Try writing a first draft, explaining a concept, brainstorming or turning your own notes into a plan. Check cannot browse the internet, read your files or operate other apps in this release. It can make mistakes, so check anything important.

Remove Check and its downloads

  1. Quit Check and Benaiah Desktop if you connected them.
  2. Move Check from Applications to the Bin.
  3. In Finder, choose Go → Go to Folder and enter ~/Library/Application Support/Check.
  4. Move that Check folder to the Bin to remove its engine, models and settings.

Don’t remove the separate ~/.ollama folder if you use Ollama. Check leaves any reused Ollama models there.

Use Check with Benaiah teammates

  1. Install Check 0.2.0 or later in Applications and finish its local AI setup.
  2. Install Benaiah Desktop 1.2.26 or later and connect your Mac to your Benaiah account.
  3. Open a teammate’s intelligence settings, choose “Check on my Mac”, then select your Mac.

Keep your Mac awake, online and Benaiah Desktop running. You can close the Check window after setup. Replies use your existing local model with no Benaiah inference-credit charge. If the Mac is unavailable, the reply stops; Check does not switch to a paid model.

This connection supports shorter text conversations, one reply at a time. Tools, Voice, calls and background routines use other sources. Benaiah still handles messages and memories through its services. Read the privacy note.

Other computers

Windows, Linux and Intel Mac releases are planned. They are not available or verified yet. This release requires an Apple M-series Mac with at least 8 GB of memory.

One-to-one setup

Hands-on business setup and engineering are planned. This first release is the free Mac app; there is no paid support booking or monitoring service yet.
